by theme

➼ The topics are the subjects usually distinguished in social sciences for the current period. Number of them are comonly use only because of their ambiguity or of their polysemy. The research work begins very often with their critic, with the aim of substituting them more rigorous notions. They remain however a type of convenient entry, in the absence of a conceptual frame acceptable by all.

In every theme, the references are classified by sub-theme and in descending order of relevance and importance. The first references concern generally the most useful texts to understand the elaborated conceptual frame. The following references concern either some developments on particular points, or inquiries at the origin of the synthetis texts. They are ordered from the most recent to the most former. The references of the interviewes to newspaper, to radio or to TV end generally the list.

One will find frequently identical references in different themes and sub-themes. There are two reasons. The referenced texts can treat them explicitly in some chapters or specific sections. The general argument of the text can concern them.

The themes are classified here by sub-discipline of the sociology. The author of the site is indeed a sociologist . But the themes can be also classified by sub-discipline of history, economics or other social science. Entities like school system, municipality, city, company, branch of activities, type of workforce, type of capitalism, nation, region of the world, etc., must mobilize researchers in all the disciplines if one wants to have some chance to produce new elements of understanding. And so each one can hope to contribute to the reorganization of the knowledges of social sciences. Texts collected here can, may be, contribute to it, if they are in the same time familiar to the readers economists, historians, sociologists, geographers, etc. and sources of questioning for every discipline.
